The Friends Adult Sunday School Class

The Friends Adult Sunday School Class

The Friends Class is an adult Sunday School class that meets in the Library in-person and on Zoom at 9:15 Sunday mornings. To request a Zoom invite, email: friends.stpa@outlook.com

Our lessons come from the International Lesson Series. This is a Bible-based source used around the world. Our teacher for 44 years is Bob Hare. He is a retired Plainview High School teacher with a religion degree from Oklahoma City University. We have annual social activities including a Christmas party, a hamburger fry in the Summer, a Fall cookout, and monthly men’s dinners and women’s luncheons. We support missions both locally and worldwide as well as provide monetary support for local foster children especially during back-to-school and Christmas time. New members are always welcome to join our study as well as our loving fellowship.

Spring 2025 Theme: “Embracing Life”

This spring, our Bible lessons follow the theme “Embracing Life.” They offer a series of lessons in two units during Lent and the weeks following that encourage us to consider what we need to let go of and what we need to take on as followers of Jesus.

Wednesday Mornings “The Group”

The Group is a very active group with meetings on Zoom at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings and end around noon. Our current study is “The History of Christianity II: From the Reformation to the Modern Megachurch” Members of the group are not just from Ardmore or St. Philip’s — all are welcome.
