Ardmore Soup Kitchen

St. Philip’s week is coming up: June 26-30 to cook and serve at the Ardmore Soup Kitchen. Service allows us to practice doing what Jesus taught us to do – to serve others. When we serve others we are reminded that nothing in this life lasts as long as the bonds we form with other people, and there is no better way to connect ourselves to others than by working together for a common good. Contact Lee Miller to volunteer to cook, serve and/or bring desserts – 580-465-5855.

Education for Ministry

The Education for Ministry program will resume this fall with co-mentors Carolyn Franks and Bonnie Watson leading the group. The Education for Ministry program is a four-year curriculum. Each "year" is a nine-month cycle of study and students enroll for one cycle at a time. The current fee is  $375/year. The required texts are provided, although students will also need a Bible. Information regarding enrollment will be provided when it becomes available.

As the emphasis on lay ministry in the church has grown, EfM has come to play an important role by providing a program that develops an informed and knowledgeable laity. Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry (EfM) program provides the education to carry out that ministry. EfM offers an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian service.
