Sunday School ~ February 18, 2018

Godly Play will continue looking at the Communion of the Saints and learning about St. Patrick.

Celebrate the Good News! is learning about the model for a life of committed ministry that Jesus created: taking time to pray and worship renewing himself for his ministry of teaching and healing.

Food & Resource Center

The next time St. Philip's is responsible to work is on Monday February 12th. We are responsible for the entire week  Our hours to work are Monday 3:30 to 6:30, Tuesday the center is closed, Wednesday 11:30 to 2:30, Thursday and Friday are also 11:30  to 2:30. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to our shift. We really need 8 to 10 workers each day to expedite the shopping for those waiting.

I'm looking for both old and new workers so please consider and let me know what days you can help out. This is a very rewarding time to share our love and help to those that are needing some extra assistance getting through the month. Your smiles, kind words and help can add dignity to a time of hardship for many.

Godly Play Training

The Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma is offering Godly Play training. The training days will take place at Emmanuel, Shawnee, and run from 8:30am until 5:30pm. One day of training a month will be offered in March, April, and May of this year to any interested Diocesan  member. If you attend all three days you will be fully certified in Godly Play. However, you can choose to attend just one day to learn about the Godly Play teaching method. If you are already a certified Godly Play instructor you are welcome to attend all or some of the days to hone your skills and learn about some of the new and  revised lessons.

There is no cost to attend any of the training sessions and lunch will be  provided. The dates for Godly Play training are: March 10; April 14; and, May 12.

St. Philip's has been using the Godly Play curriculum for children 3 years of age through Grade 1. If you are interested in being a Sunday School teacher, this would be a great introduction to one of the curricula we use!

If you are interested in signing up for one or all of these training sessions please contact, Amanda Jackson-Willy, 580 504 7779.

Casserole Cook-In

The first Cook-In was held on Tuesday, January 16 at 10 a.m. The group was able to make six casseroles to get this ministry started. Our goal is to have a Cook-In to assemble casseroles about once a month.

Casserole Cook-In is a group of volunteers that gather to prepare casseroles for members of our St. Philip’s family when needed, such as hospital stays, sickness, or death, or some other situation where a gesture of love would be appreciated.

If you are not able to join a Cook-In, you may drop off your ready-made casseroles marked Casserole Cook-In. Put your casseroles in the freezer. Please use foil-type throw-away pans. Each casserole needs to feed at least four people, and be clearly labeled with the date it was made, the name of the casserole and cooking directions.

St. Philip’s Prayer Circle

The Prayer Circle is for urgent prayer requests. Call Lynda Campbell at 580-226-3037 or 580-572-1817.

For those who have on-going prayer requests, please write them on the prayer list we use on Sundays. That list is found on the table in the back of the church. If you are not in church to add your prayer(s) call Jane Volkema at 580-226-2191 or email Jane at stpadmin@cableone.net, and she will write them in for you.
