History of the Bible

We will watch Part 1 of this PBS special. In this landmark special, NOVA takes viewers on a scientific journey that began 3,000 years ago and continues today. The film presents the latest archeological scholarship from the Holy Land to explore the beginnings of modern religion and the origins of the Hebrew Bible, also known as the Old Testament. This archeological detective story tackles some of the biggest questions in biblical studies: Where did the ancient Israelites come from? Who wrote the Bible, when, and why? How did the worship of one God—the foundation of modern Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—emerge? September

Christmas in the Barn ~ November 17 & 18, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Christmas Begins at the Barn!"

Take a drive to the country and discover Southern Oklahoma’s most festive Market. Two fun filled days with talented vendors offering unique Christmas decor and gifts, farmhouse and garden finds, lavender products, and home or fashion accessories. Top off your day with a delicious lunch or some homemade pie with the Enville Church Ladies.

St. Philip’s parishioners Donnie Minyard and Lee Totzke host this amazing event every year and they have always placed a high priority on giving back to the local community. You can help us by bringing to the show non-perishable food items to benefit the Food and Resource Center of South Central Oklahoma (FRCSCO). FRCSCO is a volunteer supported non-profit organization that fights hunger in the four Oklahoma counties. Their new grocery-store-like facility in Ardmore provides groceries every month to an estimated 1500-2000 individuals. FRCSCO also connects clients with other much-needed social services, including dental/vision care, employment referrals and housing information. Please help us fill their shelves. Personal checks made out to FRCSCO are also welcome. Working together we can solve hunger. Last year nearly 6000 food items were donated.
